1/27/2025 - SPOTLIGHT: Brushy Creek MUD Trail of the Month for February 2025

Dear Brushy Creek residents,

Starting February 2025, each month we will highlight a different trail within the District. Through this initiative, we aim to educate our residents about all the wonderful facets of our extensive and diverse trail system. First up on the list for February:

Cat Hollow Disc Golf Course Trail

Location/Parking: Parking is available at the Cat Hollow Disc Golf Course parking lot, 8338 Liberty Walk Drive, as well as along Liberty Walk Drive.

Description: Starting from Liberty Walk Drive, the 0.47-mile, crushed granite trail runs east/southeast before turning south toward O’Connor Drive.

Lighting: There is only street lighting at the beginning and end of the trail. There is no lighting throughout the trail.

Special features: The trail runs along the Cat Hollow Disc Golf Course, and there are several spots where hikers can go off trail and explore the green space (but watch out for flying discs!).

Difficulty level: There are some slight elevation changes in a focused area, but this trail runs smooth and steady. We give it a ranking of “easy”.

Flora: Throughout the trail there are oak, cedar, and cedar elm trees, as well as bluebonnets when in season.

Fauna: Wildlife spotted throughout the trail includes coyotes, cottontail rabbits, jack rabbits, rattlesnakes, rough earth snakes, fence lizards, anoles, Mexican free-tail bats, opossums, squirrels, and white tail deer.

Bicycle friendly: Yes
